This unit is based around a project report arising from issues encountered during a 120 hour internship project and through a professional development program designed to provide students with the resources to enhance their intern experience. Students are required to attend 4 workshops which cover: Australian business culture, management styles, cross cultural business communication, teamwork and reflective learning. An interactive approach will be used in the workshops to enable students to draw on their own experiences. Each workshop will have a pre-assigned reading text and a related question. Students will be expected to answer the question on BlackBoard in 200-250 words and to comment on at least one classmate's post. These discussions will be continued in the workshops for which participation marks apply. Students will also be given a post-workshop article to be read as non-compulsory, supplementary input. During the students' internship placement, they will also complete 4 reflective journals and a final report.
