This unit is for those beginning the study of Hebrew, and brings students from their first acquaintance with the Hebrew alphabet to an understanding of the Hebrew language used in the Biblical texts. The unit is devoted to the study of the grammar and the principles of translation. Students work through the grammar systematically to give a solid grounding in the language. At the same time students read Biblical texts from narrative books like Judges and Samuel to practically apply the skills they are learning.
