Biblical and ancient inscription texts are read in their original language. Students will increase their language abilities and knowledge of the Bible and its world by reading advanced Classical Hebrew texts. These include Biblical compositions such as complex legal texts (e.g., the Ten Commandments and related laws in the Book of the Covenant in the Book of Exodus). Students also increase their knowledge of the language and world of the Bible by studying epigraphic evidence of ancient Hebrew and surrounding languages uncovered by archaeological discoveries.
