This unit of study is focused on studio-based production of contemporary jewellery that engages with the space and physical dimensions of the body. Fundamental to this approach is an investigation into the role of the worn or carried object in personal identity and social communication. Alongside the acquisition of technical expertise appropriate to the assigned projects, critical skills will be developed and enhanced through research assignments, individual tutorials and group critiques. Launching from this technical and conceptual platform you will develop an individual project informed by your research interests.
