CAHO4001: Contemporary Arts Honours A

2023 unit information

Contemporary Art Honours is a year-long program. At the end of Honours year you are required to present a 5000-7000 word research paper and a substantial exhibition, performance or installation of artwork. In this unit of study you will research and develop a coherent body of studio work that is individually conceived. In addition, you will research and prepare the first draft of the research paper. Both are monitored through regular meetings with your supervisor who provides advice and feedback. Through the critical intersection of praxis and theoretical enquiry you will develop methods to engage critically with contemporary ideas. By undertaking intensive studio investigation you will deepen your understanding of your own production of artworks and will strengthen your connections with the broader field.
