This unit introduces Master of Fine Arts students to the processes of research, including how to develop a research proposal into a research paper and abstract, and how to contextualise the research project in relation to current concerns in contemporary art, theory, philosophy and history. Through weekly seminars the unit builds on students' existing knowledge of research by focusing on how to select and apply research methodologies in order to achieve the goals of the research and develop appropriate strategies for planning and writing.
