Rapid enhancement and expansion of essential Chinese-language skills (proficiency in listening and speaking, reading comprehension, dictionary use, character knowledge, etc.). On completion of this unit of study, students be able to read Chinese-language materials of limited complexity and to discuss their content orally and write short compositions.
