This unit of study aims to provide an advanced understanding of the fundamentals of traffic engineering, traffic flow theory, traffic modelling, and operations. Topics include: fundamentals of traffic flow theory; Shock Wave analysis, micro-modelling; macro-modelling; queuing theory; signalised and unsignalised intersections; ramp metering; traffic simulation; accident analysis, traffic data collection and analysis; and crowd dynamics.
