At the completion of this unit, you should be able to:

  • LO1. Develop a basic understanding of the history and current state of Australian financial crises and regulation
  • LO2. Develop a basic understanding of regulatory measures undertaken by developing countries in the aftermath of the GFC
  • LO3. Develop a basic knowledge of global measures and international responses to the GFC from the perspective of developed countries such as the UK, the US and others.
  • LO4. Develop a basic knowledge of the role of international financial institutions such as the IMF, World Bank, and WTO in financial regulation across the globe.
  • LO5. Develop a basic understanding of the future of financial regulation.
