This unit of study aims to provide students with advanced theoretical knowledge and skill sets for analysing macroeconomic policy issues and understanding modern macroeconomic policy debates. Lectures critically appraise the theoretical models which are commonly used to provide insight into macroeconomic policy. This appraisal provides background and context for a series of seminars. These seminars focus on specific and topical macroeconomic policy issues not just within Australia, but also internationally.
