2024 unit information

This unit, which can be counted towards a major in an approved program, takes the form of a short-term internship with a placement organisation. Students will have the opportunity to develop their knowledge and skills in practical contexts through working in an organisation and being supported by academic guidance and assessments designed to connect theory with real-world practice.

At the completion of this unit, you should be able to:

  • LO1. apply the knowledge and skills developed in a student's degree and/or major in a specific organisational setting
  • LO2. demonstrate enhanced written and oral communication skills including, where relevant in a language other than English
  • LO3. identify issues that relate your area of study to specific organisational and contextual issues that govern workplace practices
  • LO4. demonstrate self-reflection in relation to professional work experience
  • LO5. identify and appraise ethical issues in relation to a student's area of study and reflect on these in the context of professional employment.
