The practical language classes in this unit build on GRMN1001. By the end of the unit you will be able to communicate in a variety of simple and routine situations in German. Using authentic materials in the classroom will also enable you to improve your cultural competency and deepen your knowledge of the German-speaking world.

At the completion of this unit, you should be able to:

  • LO1. have consolidated, practised and extended the grammatical and vocabulary knowledge acquired in GRMN1001
  • LO2. have developed your listening and reading skills to the CEFR level A2
  • LO3. have developed your speaking and writing skills to the to the CEFR level A2
  • LO4. have increased your understanding of the cultures of the German-speaking countries through the analysis of cultural materials
