IBUS3106: Social Entrepreneurship Special Project

2023 unit information

This unit of study provides the opportunity for you to travel to Hanoi and work alongside a Vietnamese social enterprise and develop an actionable plan for how they can scale their activities and enhance their impact. You will participate in an action research project as part of a team, that will involve conversations with the entrepreneur and other stakeholders, meetings with industry professionals and attendance at lectures and workshops both in Sydney and Hanoi.

At the completion of this unit, you should be able to:

  • LO1. identify and evaluate social entrepreneurship opportunities
  • LO2. develop an appropriate business related strategy for an enterprise
  • LO3. apply appropriate research frameworks and methodologies to evidence recommendations in the social entrepreneurship context
  • LO4. prepare and present documentation to secure enterprise and stakeholder support
  • LO5. demonstrate the skills and attitudes required of a successful entrepreneur or strategy consultant - displaying business knowledge and innovative yet critical thinking whilst working under pressure and against fixed timelines
  • LO6. work in cross-disciplinary groups and manage competing requirements.
