This unit provides an in-depth understanding of cybersecurity management, essential to organisations in protecting their data and information assets against threats and attacks. Students are exposed to concepts, methodologies, and strategies that will equip them with key skills needed to prevent, detect, and mitigate security risks, while addressing ethical and privacy concerns. This unit covers a range of topics of cybersecurity risk management, including awareness of emerging technologies, information security policy, governance frameworks, and incident response planning in response to social engineering and ransomware attacks. Students also learn how to respond to and mitigate incidents and manage employees, while developing security education with focus on effective training and awareness programs.
