2025 unit information
The Advanced Endocrinology syllabus is at a level appropriate for practitioners undertaking specialist training in endocrinology or with an interest in the field. The content is focussed on diagnosis and investigation of important but less common endocrine conditions and advanced management of common and important endocrine diseases. The module learning materials are linked to a library of clinical cases representing common and important endocrine conditions.

At the completion of this unit, you should be able to:
- LO1. LO1: Describe recent and emerging developments in metabolic medicine.
- LO2. LO2: Understand the role of individualised management in metabolic medicine and endocrinology.
- LO3. LO3: Initiate specialised investigations for endocrinological conditions and understand the pitfalls of these investigations.
- LO4. LO4: Manage common and less common endocrinological conditions.
- LO5. LO5: Recognise the impact of research on the approach to management in metabolism and endocrinology and the use of goal-directed literature reviews to inform clinical practice.
- LO6. L06: Communicate with peers and supervisors about diagnostic and management problems.
