MHST6906: MHST Professional Placement Elective

2025 unit information

The Elective professional placement offers an invaluable opportunity to gain hands on experience in one of the University of Sydney’s many institutional partners across the arts and heritage sectors. Students undertake a 20-day internship, focused on a specific aspect of professional practice. Projects are designed to broaden skills and expertise and provide students with an opportunity to reflect on the relationship between theory and practice. Partner organisations could include major museums, galleries, libraries, and archives as well as heritage consultancies, local councils, peak body organisations and auction houses.
