In this unit, we will explore the history of Electronic Dance Music (EDM) from 1970s disco to present day, to understand the cultural forces, technological limitations and affordances, and the influence and legacy of key innovators who helped shape the musical language of EDM. We will then build on this knowledge by wirting EDM informed by genre styles and techniques to improve our technical and creative skills.
