This unit examines the key strategic challenges in the conduct of US foreign policy. The United States remains the most consequential international actor even as great-power rivalry intensifies and challenges such as climate change, technological revolution, and pandemics grow in significance. Using both a regional and issue-specific approach, the unit inspects how the United States can navigate its security commitments in the Indo-Pacific, Europe, and the Middle East, as well as respond to the urgency of domestic US political movements for racial justice and equality.
