Postgraduate Student Resources
The Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences of the University of Sydney provides extensive resources for postgraduate studies undertaken in the English Department of the School of Letters, Arts and Media.
Postgraduates are provided with a wide range of study, technical and research support while undertaking a course at the University. These resources are managed by our academic and support staff and are under constant development and refinement.
Our postgraduates benefit from access to Australia’s largest University library, study space in our Postgraduate Arts Research Centre (PGArc), and computing and technical support. These benefits apply to all levels of Postgraduate coursework study, i.e. Research, Masters, Diploma or Certificate level.
The internship, industry and related programs within the School, and the community engagement programs of the University, further enhance these benefits.
Your university experience is further enhanced by access to our active campus social life, and to the many local and international arts and humanities research communities and networks associated with Sydney University.
Students, as members of SUPRA (Sydney University Postgraduate Representative Association), receive additional benefits such as advice on research and current issues in research and education, advocacy in academic appeals and welfare problems, and advice on the binding, copying and production of theses. SUPRA’s staff are there to provide assistance and include an Outreach Activities Officer, two Student Advisors, a Research Officer, a Publications Officer. SUPRA also runs free practical skills workshops throughout the year.
