“The right word is all it takes”, said Sue Woolfe, when asked about the secret of good writing. The award-winning author will launch the inaugural anthology THREADS produced by the Master of Publishing students at Sydney University, on October 29 at Gleebooks. An arts graduate of Sydney University who now teaches in the Creative Writing program, Sue Woolfe weaves the final thread that completes the anthology.

It is not a myth that new writers feel anxious as they approach publication. Professional writers continue to experience similar feelings according to Woolfe. “I find myself changing various things in the manuscript moments before I hand it over to the publisher.”

When asked about her experiences with editors, she said, “It is a wonderful experience for a writer to find an editor who is good at structural editing. Finding the right editor is like finding gold.” Woolfe felt that the anthology provided a great opportunity for new writers, as well as editing experience for the master of publishing students, who gained an insight into the author-editor relationship.

The authors and editors of THREADS would love you to join us in celebrating this exciting new publication.
