Australia Thailand Institute Fellows 2014
Mikaela was selected as an Australia Thailand Institute Fellow for 2014. Her ATI fellowship was a terrific learning experience that has strengthened her passion for journalism.

Grace was selected as the Australia-Malaysia Institute fellow and travelled to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to work as a media intern at the Australian High Commission and The Star Newspaper.

Thanks to the Australia Korea Foundation and Department of Media and Communications, Brendan spent five weeks in the middle of 2014 in Seoul, Korea, working as a media intern with TBS eFM radio station.

Thanks to the Australian China Council I was able to travel to Beijing and undertake an internship at the Global Times, the third largest newspaper in China.

Beverly undertook a four week internship at Agence France-Presse (AFP) in Tokyo which has left her with a heightened understanding of Japan and a desire to specialise in East Asian politics in the future.

Being and Becoming is a perennial theme of philosophical debate. Is existence best captured through an idea of what we are, or what we might be, or could have become. Is existence a movement towards the same, or towards being something different. By profiling very different people and situations these four short documentaries tackle the theme of being and becoming in different ways.
There seems to be a mysterious link between creativity and space. Some venues foster creativity and brilliant performances, while others just don't seem right. Some people need space to be creative, others find creativity through collaboration with others. Creativity thrives on the traditional stage. But 'the stage' can also be a pedestrian mall, or a dance event.
