How to apply and enrol

Six steps to Sydney

Deciding what and where to study is a big decision. These six steps will help you navigate the path to uni.

Step 1: Choose your course

Use Find a Course to explore what you can study at Sydney, and find out what ATAR and other entry requirements you need for the courses you’re interested in.

Step 2: Visit us

The best way to get a feel for the campus is to visit us. Open Day is the best time to come and see what it’s like. There are mini lectures, hands on activities and tours.

If you can’t make it to Open Day, we offer campus tours throughout the year.

Step 3: Explore your entry options

If you’re not sure you’ll get the ATAR for your preferred course, check Access Sydney to see if you’re eligible for any of our special entry pathways.

Step 4: See what scholarships you can apply for

We award more than $65 million in scholarships each year. Visit the Scholarships Office website to see how to apply for them.

Step 5: Apply through UAC

To apply for most University of Sydney courses you should submit your application online through the Universities Admissions Centre (UAC). There are some exceptions for graduate programs such as Dentistry and Medicine.

Step 6: Accept your offer and enrol

So you’ve received an offer to study with us – congratulations! Now you need to accept your offer by enrolling.
