Biography

Ric Marshall is an Epidemiologist and former Clinical Psychologist. He has an Hon. Professorial appointment with the Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Sydney. In that role he specialises in Health Service Management Information Development. He has a long history as an international consultant in case-mix systems and funding reform implementation. He currently also works part time for the Interim Independent Hospital Pricing Authority in Australia where he leads the team responsible for the Activity Based Funding (ABF) system reforms in hospitals. He was formerly Director of DRG Development in Australia and Chair of Australia’s Health Statistical Information Management Committee. In addition to his work in Australia, he has managed and advised on case-mix information and funding system implementation projects and health reform projects in both the public and private sectors in Azerbaijan, China, Egypt, Georgia, Germany, Indonesia, Kosovo, FYR Macedonia, Malaysia, Mauritius, Philippines, Qatar, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia, Turkey, UK.
