Critical Infection

Critical infections are those with the greatest impact on mortality and morbidity of the seriously ill, in which the health system is most invested. Our scientists, doctors, ethicists, health law specialists, journalists, clinical trial experts, and epidemiologists are all working together on those problems that constitute the greatest threats to the public health and critical care infrastructure. Focus areas include septic shock, opportunistic infections in the critically ill, severe pneumonia, pandemic respiratory viruses, severe childhood and adult encephalitis and the ecology and genetics of antibiotic resistance.
