Clinical Electives

Sydney Medical School welcomes applications from overseas and Australian medical students wishing to undertake elective periods at one of the teaching hospitals in the clinical schools of the University of Sydney. Your application will be considered on the basis of your previous training and the capacity of the clinical school concerned to accept you. Only students in the final year (or close to their final year) of study will be considered.

In most cases, approved applicants for clinical electives will join our regular students undertaking integrated clinical attachments. It helps to be flexible, however you should be fairly specific about the disciplines of Medicine or Surgery which interest you.

Elective Placement Availability

Note: Placements are not available for the period between mid-December and mid-January.
