Indigenous Australians Leading in Business MBA Scholarship

The University of Sydney Business School is committed to addressing the under-representation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in senior leadership positions. The Indigenous Australians Leading in Business MBA Scholarship aims to accelerate the rate at which Indigenous Australians move into senior leadership roles within all forms of Australian enterprises.

Our part-time MBA has a strong focus on developing the personal and interpersonal skills required to lead in today’s hyper-connected, global environment.

Indigenous Australians Leading in Business MBA Scholarship is valued at over $60,000 and covers a maximum 4 years of the tuition fees for enrolment in the part-time MBA in Semester 1, 2025. 

About the program

The part-time MBA is designed for professionals with 3-5 years of relevant experience looking to either take their career to the next level or change career direction. 

You can complete the degree in two to three years of part-time study and it consists of 12 units of study – an integrated core of seven units, an industry capstone and up to four electives chosen by you.

  • Upload a copy of your CV, academic transcript, supporting documents confirming Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander identity, and a maximum two-page personal statement demonstrating:
    • leadership experience and potential in your chosen field,
    • a demonstrated commitment to advance the wellbeing and rights of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples,
    • a vision of how completion of the part-time MBA will further contribute to positive change for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Eligibility

Applicants must be domestic students.

Applicants must identify as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Island person as defined in the University of Sydney’s Confirmation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Identity Policy 2015.

Applicants must be eligible for admission into the Master of Business Administration (MBA) within the Business School at the University of Sydney.

Students currently enrolled in the University of Sydney MBA and employees of the University of Sydney are not eligible for this Scholarship.
