Professor Nancy Baxter is a clinical epidemiologist, colorectal surgeon and health services researcher.
Her main research interests are in the evaluation of patterns of cancer care, the evaluation of cancer screening, determining the long-term consequences of cancer care for survivors and improving the quality and safety of surgery.
Professor Baxter joined the University of Sydney as the Faculty of Medicine and Health Deputy Executive Dean (Research Centres) in 2023. She was previously with the University of Melbourne, where she was Head of the Melbourne School of Population and Global Health within the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences.
Prior to this, she was the Associate Dean, Academic Affairs at the Dalla Lana School of Public Health, a Professor of Surgery in the Department of Surgery and the Institute of Health Policy, Management and Evaluation at the University of Toronto.
Professor Baxter has published over 400 peer-reviewed articles and is a Fellow of both the American College of Surgeons and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
