Student handbooks

Your faculty handbook is key to choosing the right subjects

Read your faculty’s student handbook to understand the core requirements of your degree and explore your unit of study options.

Faculty handbooks are an important online resource for students. They're useful at many different times of the student lifecycle:

  • at the start of the application process, when you're researching your course options
  • during enrolment, if you are required to select units of study
  • a few months later, if you need to choose units of study for next semester
  • any time during your studies when you want to look up the rules governing your degree.

Your faculty's handbook will describe your course in detail, including available majors, streams and specialisations, progression requirements, attendance patterns, and the number of credit points needed for the award of the degree.

Handbooks also contain full descriptions of the units of study you can choose from. You may be able to broaden your studies by taking subjects outside your core subject area or from other faculties. This will also be explained in your handbook.

Once you have chosen your units of study, you are ready to enrol.

If you have any questions regarding your units of study and course requirements, please direct them to the faculty in which you are studying.
