Two thirds of Australia's 'most awesomest' comedy band, the Axis of Awesome, will entertain guests at a free concert at the University of Sydney's Open Day 2013.

Band members and University of Sydney alumni Jordan Raskopoulos and Lee Naimo will perform their unique mixture of original comedy songs and pop parodies visitors at the University's largest annual event.

The University of Sydney will open its doors on 31 August to future students, their families and friends, and members of the public interested in seeing what one of Australia's leading universities has to offer. Open Day is a great opportunity to explore the University's diverse range of courses and discover your options for undergraduate and postgraduate study.

Jordan and Lee met during a University of Sydney Theatresports show in 2001. Lee hated Jordan immediately; Jordan didn't know Lee existed. It was destined to be a great partnership.

Jordan, Lee and third band member Benny Davis formed the Axis of Awesome in 2006 - their name punning on US President George W. Bush's phrase 'axis of evil'.

Starting their careers with a few stand-up comedy nights and improvisation events, Axis of Awesome grew into an international comedy sensation. Their Four Chord Song is one of the highest rated comedy videos of all time on YouTube, with more than 20 million hits. They have made TV appearances in Australia, the UK and Sweden and their albums 'Scissors, Paper, ROCK!' and 'Infinity Rock Explosion' are hits with audiences worldwide.

In 2010, they picked up the Time Out Award for Best Australian Act at the Sydney Comedy Festival, and they received the prestigious Moosehead Award for their first ever Melbourne International Comedy Festival show, 'The Axis of Awesome Comeback Spectacular'. In addition, they won the Australian National Theatresports Championships, the Cranston Cup, the Celebrity Theatresports Challenge, the Sydney University Theatresports Championship and the inaugural St George/Kogarah Theatresports Challenge. Their most recent show 'Songs in the Key of Awesome' had its Australian premiere at the Sydney Opera House.
