Graduates of the former NSW State Conservatorium of Music will be weclomed as alumni of the University at today's event.

On Tuesday 22 March, the University of Sydney will be welcoming as alumni the students from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music who graduated prior to 1990. The Alumni Recognition Ceremony will be held in the Great Hall at the University and is to be followed by a concert at the Con.

Participants, some of whom are about 90 years of age, will wear academic dress and receive a certificate of recognition from the Chancellor, Her Excellency Professor Marie Bashir, which will be followed by a champagne reception and concert at the Con. Lyndon Terracini, the artistic director of Opera Australia, is the guest speaker.

The NSW State Conservatorium of Music was founded in 1915 and became part of the University of Sydney in 1990. Anyone who completed at least one full semester of study at the Con prior to 1990 is eligible for this honour.

This is the second Alumni Recognition Ceremony to be held following the first ceremony last year.
