Sharing Pacific Histories

8 October 2011

Thousands of islands are spread across the vast Pacific ocean. Yet Pacific histories are not 'island bound'; for millennia people have navigated throughout the region sharing and interacting in many ways.

Come join us to listen to seven speakers covering topics ranging from gold mining in colonial Papua New Guinea, ancient and modern Kava practices of Vanuatu and Fiji, Polynesian voyagers to Europe, Oratory traditions of Samoa, and the West Papuan freedom movement.

There will be activities for children.

A BBQ lunch will be available by gold coin donation.
