Students shortlisted at international design prize

19 May 2012

The Faculty of Architecture, Design and Planning congratulates three high-performing students who have been shortlisted in the 2012 CAPITheticAL international design competition.

Daniel Spence, Kate Dickinson and Annabel Koeck were announced yesterday as finalists at a cocktail reception at the Museum of Australian Democracy, Old Parliament House in Canberra.

Daniel and Swedish collaborator Kristina Sahleström are the founding members of Sahleström Spence Studio. Daniel graduated from the Faculty's Master of Architecture Program and was awarded the Design Medal. Their work focuses on the expression of a uniquely Australian sense of scale in landscape architecture.

Kate Dickison and Annabel Koeck are both graduates of the Master of Architecture. They are interested in the diachronic shifts in the role of capital cities over the 20th century.

It is gratifying to note the continued high-performance of the Faculty's students in national and international design competitions. The Faculty congratulates Daniel, Kate and Annabel on their success thus far and wishes them well as the next round of eliminations begin.
