DATE: 2 March 2012TIME: 11:30 am to 3:00 pm.

Friends, family and colleagues are invited to join the celebration of Col's Life.

Take Col's walk (or drive) to Shepherd Street, Darlington and at 11.30 am assemble on the corner of Shepherd and Abercrombie Streets, to join a public procession with the funeral hearse to the "Block" in Everleigh Street Redfern.

At 12 noon, a solute to Col's coffin will take place before the funeral hearse leaves for the crematorium.

At 12:15 pm, a public "Celebration of Colin's Life" will commence upstairs in the Redfern Community Centre, 29-53 Hugo Street, Redfern. This will include film footage of Col and a slide presentation.

At approximately 1:15, when Col's family return from the crematorium, a wake will formally commence, MC'd by Col's friend and colleague, Rick Lepastrier. Speakers will cover the broad range of Colin's influence across multiple fields of his working career.

The Commemoration to Col will complete the circle of an extraordinary life.

In case you wish to have a last word about Col, there will be a talking tent and video recorder to document your comments.

We suggest, should you be considering flowers, that instead you may wish to donate to the "Koori Job Ready" Gardener's Lodge, Indigenous Training Employment Program .

This can be sent to the following address: 255 Wilson St, Darlington, NSW 2008 or placed in a special box on the day. Such donations will help Indigenous young people into the employment market, a gesture valued by Colin, his family and the local community.

Offers of helping hands should be directed to Karen Lambert,

The Sydney Morning Herald has published an obituary in Col's honour, written by Paul Pholeros, Karine Shellshear and Sue Clarke
