Architecture Revue opens for limited season
24 August 2010
The 2010 Architecture Revue is set to launch for strictly limited season at the Seymour Centre. Carrying a proud tradition of irreverent humour, topical stories and outstanding set design, this year's show is titled "Ceci n'est pas une revue d'architecture"!
The season runs from the Thursday, 2nd of September to Saturday 4th of September. Three shows only. "We thought about running a matinee session to cope with what we are sure will be too much demand for too few seats," says this year's Revue Producer Nick Grimes, "but the nature of the show doesn't lend itself to a children's pantomine-style audience. Tickets will sell out fast so it will be the quick or the disappointed unfortunately."
Opening Night special event for Alumni
Opening night is traditionally the night that alumni come along to show their support to the students, and Thursday's show will be preceded by alumni drinks. This will be hosted by the new Dean of the Faculty of Architecture, Design and Planning, Professor John Redmond, who commences with the Faculty on the 30th of August. Alumni interested in attending should contact John Elliott, Communications and Engagement Manager, on 9351 7591 or via email contact details below. Special alumni tickets are available for $20.
The development of the Architecture Revue is a huge task taken on by a large group of energetic students. But it also could not take place without significant funding from a number of organisations and generous individuals, including of course the Faculty of Architecture, Design and Planning. Companies that have provided support include:
- CplusC Design Construct
- Faculty of Architecture, Design and Planning Alumni Council
- Andrew Burns Architects
- Bates Smart
- DTB Architects
- Hill Thalis Architecture
- Rudolfsson Alliker Associates Architects
- Sustainable Built Environments
- Tanner Architects
"The support we have received from industry is phenomenal" adds Nick Grimes. "We can't put this on without them so we can't thank them enough. It is great to see so many companies appreciate the importance of extra-curricular activities like this to the student life at Sydney."
