About the talk
The Director General will highlight current issues and emerging directions in driving the Department of Planning's vision of sustainable growth in NSW, with emphasis on the Sydney Metropolitan region. The talk will cover strategic, policy and regulatory issues.

The discussion provides an opportunity to feed into the review of the Metropolitan Strategy and the implementation of the government planning reform agenda to deliver Australia's best planning system.

About the speaker
Sam Haddad is Director General of the NSW Department of Planning. He was previously Deputy Director General of the Department of Infrastructure, Planning and Natural Resources where he was the key policy and regulatory driver for infrastructure assessment and approvals in the State. Appointed as Director General in 2005 he has since led and implemented significant policy, legislative and organisational reforms.
