Promotions for Itai Einav, Gianluca Ranzi and Li Liu

Three staff from Civil Engineering will be updating their business cards on January 1 following their promotions in recognition of their teaching and research.

Itai Einav has been promoted to Associate Professor. Itai's revolutionary research into breakage mechanics has applications in many areas. His work was published in the scientific journal The Philisophical Transactions of The Royal Society in 2007. Itai manages to maintain this cutting edge research while still teaching his large first year class in Engineering Mechanics with his usual flair and style.

Gianluca Ranzi has been promoted to Senior Lecturer. Gianluca has been expanding his research interests in composite steel and concrete structures to the emerging areas of light metals collaborating with our Electron Microscope Unit. Gianluca has been developing some innovative eLearning materials to support his teaching..

Li Liu has been promoted to Senior Lecturer. Li's research into construction and project management practives continues to flourish. He has been hard working in running our popular Project Engineering and Management stream in our undergraduate degree.
