International Conference on Thin Walled Structures

Sydney academics Greg Hancock, Kim Rasmussen and Tim Wilkinson, plus research students Benoit Gilbert and Cao Hung Pham represented the University at the International Conference on Thin Walled Structures held on the Gold Coast this month.


This conference brings together academics in the thin-walled structures area together every three years, and is usually attended mostly by researchers from Europe, Asia and the Pacific, with some additional North American presence.

Australian researchers from the Universities of Sydney, New South Wales,Monash, QUT and Tasmania interacted with colleagues from around the world - many of whom have had strong links with The University of Sydney and other Australian universities.

The conference featured several Sydney Alumni, now in Academic positions around the world, such as Mark Bradford (UNSW), Colin Rogers (McGill), Mike Bambach (Monash), J-G Teng (Hong Kong), Ben Young (Hong Kong) and Young Kwon (Korea)
