QR stands for 'quick response'.
QR Codes are 2 dimensional barcodes that hold data. QR Codes originated in Japan, mainly used to track parts in automobile manufacturing plants.But now they have leapt into the commercial world, mainly aimed at mobile phone users tostore addresses and URLs. A user having a camera phone equipped with the correct reader software can scan the image of the QR Code causing the phone's browser to launch and redirect to the programmed URL.
