We are pleased to announce that Professor Archie Johnston has accepted the University's offer of appointment as the next Dean of Engineering and IT. He will join the University on 3 August as Dean Designate, working closely with Professor Hancock before taking up the Deanship on 1 September.

Professor John Small has retired from the School of Civil Engineering after 27 years of service, leaving on a high of some excellent research in recent years.
Associate Professor Abbas El-Zein has recently published his autobiography, 'Leave to Remain", telling his story of growing up in civil-war Beirut, a city in the throes of self-destruction.
