Record number of volunteers sign up

13 March 2013

Alongside the various student societies and corporate marquees spruiking interest from the river of students on the first day of "O-Week", staff from the Compass Program were kept busy recording contact details from 280 interested volunteers!

The Compass Volunteer program has been running in primary and secondary schools for 5 years and has grown both in scope and number of participating volunteers in this time. The Program operates in 23 schools, offering the "Word Up" literacy and numeracy tutoring programs as well as homework clubs.

Compass Volunteers are highly regarded and positions are sought after. Selected volunteers are provided with training and opportunities to work within schools across Sydney, which provides valuable experience and skills.

Students interested in applying for this exciting program can apply via the Compass website or by contact us.
