MacquarieNet Training

10 March 2010

All Compass schools have or will shortly receive access to MacquarieNet - Australia's leading online reference library.

In addition, all students of our Compass schools are able to access MacquarieNet from remotely either at home, internet cafes or public libraries. MacquarieNet is specially designed for Australian teachers, students and parents. The resource delivers a wealth of Australian and international information from just one online source including dictionary, encyclopedia, reference and image resources covering a broad range of topics.

It is also unique in offering online access to the Macquarie Dictionary, the national Australian dictionary and innovative teaching and learning tools. Users can explore the Interactive Macquarie Atlas of Indigenous Australia and scan daily bulletins from the ABC.

12 teachers from Kogarah PS, Kogarah HS and Athelstane PS attended a MacquarieNet training session delivered by MacquarieNet Trainer Melissa Kemble last week hosted by Kogarah PS. The training included a hands-on workshops where attendees were able to explore the site and instructed on how to use the teacher workbook.

If your school would like to arrange a MacquarieNet training session, please contact your Senior Project Officer.
