Exploring the world of microscopy

23 June 2010

40 year 11 and 12 students from Alexandria Park Community School and Holroyd High school will visit the University's Australian Centre for Microscopy & Microanalysis (ACMM) and explore the world of microscopy today.

These visits support their class work in biology, chemistry, physics and the environment by providing hands-on experience of electron and light
microscopy.

The students will also see demonstrations of specimen preparation and hear all about the historical development of microscopes.

The students will explore with the ACMMs highly experienced staff a diverse range of microscopic samples in ways not possible at school.
