R&J and Hitler's Daughter at the Seymour Centre
9 September 2010
Almost 100 students from Kogarah High School and Bexley Public schools kickstarted Term 3 by attending performances of Hitler's Daughter at the Seymour Centre. The Monkey Baa Theatre for Young People adapted the novel by Jackie French into a fabulous theatre production.
Students from Bexley Public School read the book as a preview to the theatre performance and gained a lot from seeing the production live.
67 students from Kogarah and Marrickville High Schools attended performances of R&J at the Seymour Centre. This production was a modern take on Shakespeare's classic Romeo and Juliet described as it follows students from a Catholic boys' boarding school as they stage their own production of Romeo and Juliet, it is described as "an innovative, sexy, new interpretation of Shakespeare's classic tragedy."
