Giant Science - 28th April 2011

5 May 2011

Despite the morning rain, over 360 primary students from Condell Park, Marrickville, Marrickville West, Picnic Point and Wattawa Heights attended Giant Science at University of Sydney.

Students were treated to a Science Show by Chemistry, Physics and Biology lecturers complete with loud bangs, explosions and live animals. They were also involved in a range of hands-on activities from across the science disciplines including workshops that include DNA, forensics, human bones, glowing worms and mummies. The day ended with Dr Karl Kruszelnicki's lecture, where students eagerly listened and answered (or rather asked) the $50 million Noble Prize challenge.

Four Compass volunteers: Alisa, Kate, Margaret and Sharmali helped the event and we would like to thank their assistance.
