2011 Widening Participation grants announced this week!

Over $800K is available to faculties through a range of new curriculum, research and partnership grants, as part of the University's commitment to social inclusion and widening participation in higher education. There are three categories:

  1. Community Engagement Grants for Social Inclusion partnerships ($10-30K)
    These grants support faculties or divisions to engage in partnership activities with schools or communities aimed at widening participation.
  2. Inclusive Curriculum Renewal Grants ($5-15K)
    These grants support implementation and integration of inclusive teaching strategies into curricula and teaching, especially in first year units.
  3. Research on Inclusion/Exclusion ($5-25K)
    These grants support research of three types: research on inclusion that relates to pathways to higher education, research on inclusion that relates to higher education teaching and curriculum and evaluation research on widening participation strategies.

Only a short application is required (see details on the website) and the applications will be considered by a selection panel drawn from the University community. Applications for all three categories of grants close at 5pm, 9th September 2011 with the successful applicants being announced at the Sydney Teaching Colloquium 20-21st September 2011.
