Annual Engineering Technology Education presentations held

6 October 2011

On Thursday 15th September the annual Engineering Technology Education presentations were held. In this program the students work in groups to deliver a unit of work to Year 9 - 10 high school science classes that showcase an engineering perspective consistent with the relevant Science syllabus, and then present their findings to the University.

The Faculty of Engineering has worked with Compass schools in this program 4 times now, both with Marrickville and Kogarah High Schools. This year one of the groups returned to Kogarah High School with outstanding success, teaching the high school students everything from how to build artificial limbs to the principles of flight. The students presented a very enthusiastic summary of their science class which showed just how much they thoroughly enjoyed their time at Kogarah HS. They are all looking forward to working with the Compass program again next year.

We wish them luck when the winner is announced at the end of semester!
