ENGINEERING MASTERS PROGRAMS GET INDUSTRY THUMBS UP
24 February 2010
The Master of Project Management (MPM) was accredited by the US based Project Management Institute Global Accreditation Center for Project Management Education Programs earlier this month. The accreditation demonstrates the MPM meets global standards in project management education.
"I'm delighted our MPM has received this global seal of approval," says Faculty Dean Professor Archie Johnston. "Infrastructure projects are proceeding at an incredible pace both in Australia and overseas, and the need for qualified project managers with strong planning and management skills is at an all time high. This accreditation ensures the University is producing project managers who can cut it with the best in the world."
Elsewhere, the Faculty's Master of Professional Engineering (MPE) received provisional accreditation at the level of Professional Engineer, from national industry body Engineers Australia in January.
"With Australia facing a shortage of engineers and project managers, these accreditations allow us to say hand on heart that our programs are addressing the needs of industry," Professor Johnston says. "
