The University of Sydney moves up world rankings

The University of Sydney has improved its results in the recently announced Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2011-2012. The University moved up the overall rankings from 71 to 58.

Rankings for the fields of engineering and technology were announced last week, with the University climbing to 35 in the THE Top 50 Engineering and Technology Universities.

The THE rankings are based on 13 performance indicators under five broad categories: teaching, research, citations, industry income and international outlook.
