CIS project teams are working to complete a series of upgrades and improvements to our teaching and learning facilities before the start of semester in 2013. |
As some University operations close for the year, a complex program of campus improvements is only just beginning.
December and January provides a short period in which numerous works can be carried out while there are fewer staff and students on campus.
It is one of the busiest periods for CIS project teams to complete a series of upgrades and improvements to our teaching and learning facilities before the start of semester in 2013.
What's happening
Here is an overview of some of the key projects taking place from December 2012 to March 2013.
Laboratory upgrades program
Chemistry Building (F11), levels 2, 4 and 5
Major refurbishment works are underway to provide a series of new and upgraded laboratories including:
Blackburn Building (D06), level 4
RMC Gunn Building (B19), levels 4 and 6
Refurbishment to provide teaching labs and new office space:
2013 Learning space program
15 lecture theatres across Camperdown/Darlington, Mallet Street and Cumberland campuses will receive a variety of upgrades, including new AV lecturns:
Essential power upgrades
Ausgrid is upgrading the electricity supply to the University and as a result of Ausgrid's works, the University is required to undertake a schedule of mandatory power upgrades.
Works will take place at the following locations and are due to be completed by April 2013:
Teaching spaces refurbishments
Engineering Link Building (J13), level 4
Refurbishments and fit outs
New MBA School, Castlereagh Street
Australian Technology Park, level 2
