Sydney Rides Challenge

12 September 2011

The University of Sydney, along with other organisations from across the CBD and North Sydney, is taking part in the Sydney Rides Challenge. It's a fun workplace competition to see which Sydney organisation can get the most staff to ride a bike between 26 September- 16 October.

So hop on your bike, have some fun and win great prizes! Follow these three easy steps to get involved:

  1. To register, click here. Select our organisation and fill in your details. It's free and only takes a minute.
  2. To take part, you need to ride a bike for just 10 minutes! You can ride at anytime, anywhere across the three weeks of the Challenge. Don't forget to log your trips, they count towards our total and will help us win! The Log a Trip function will keep track of your travels and provide you with information about the number of kilometres you have cycled and how much CO2 you've saved.
  3. There are some fantastic prizes to be won just for participating! You could win a holiday to New Zealand, movie tickets or an iPad 2! There are also weekly prize drawers throughout the challenge, including ladies and gents Trek and Giant bikes. Plus there are group prizes (like a gourmet BBQ for the whole team) and a public awards ceremonywith Lord Mayor to commend the organisations which get the most staff to dust off their old two-wheeler. See the full prize list here.

Get into it!

If you've been thinking about getting your bike out, this is the perfect opportunity.Any participant who hasn't ridden in more than a year (plus the person who encourages them to sign up)will receive free Greater Union movie tickets.

You don't even need to own a bike. If you don't have your own bike, come along to one of our six free lunch time "Try-a-Bike" sessions. You can l earn more about the "Try-a-Bike" sessions here.
